Music - Tips and Considerations
Whilst we always work with our clients to provide their style of party. We're often asked our advice, and we find ourselves offering similar thoughts to most family parties.
- You cannot please everyone. Of course, we have to try, but sometimes you have to look to the majority.
- Modern and Funky may work for you and some close friends, but unless you will be dancing all night, consider those that want the less-cool "cheesy" tracks. Generally, people do like dancing to songs they know well - so Abba, Jacksons, 60's, 70's etc normally work well.
- Provide your DJ with some indication of your likes/dislikes. We can work with this and even stock up on similar tracks we may not have.
- Asking guests to suggest songs is good, but please do not make these all "must play". Some people will suggest music that is not suitable for an evening party. If we're providing background music, we'll have more flexibility to fit in tracks.
- Take care with music you hear on the Radio. Many chart tracks are played far in advance of their release. We sometimes get tracks just before their release, but it will sometimes be difficult to ensure we can acquire a specific pre-release.
- We can play the same song twice! Probably not in the same 30minutes, but a good song played early can always be played later in the night.
